Norwegians aged between 35 and 44 were the most active online buyers of food and groceries in 2024. A survey conducted that year found that around 21 percent of respondents of that age group bought groceries via the internet.

Data from 2021 showed that, compared to other categories, groceries stood low in the ranking of online purchases in Norway. Clothes and shoes led the list with 34 percent of respondents purchasing this online, followed by body and health products.

E-commerce in the Nordic countries 

Among the Nordic countries,Ìýonline shopping was most popular in Sweden , where 86 percent of the respondents reported having purchased goods online in 2022. Finland came last in the list with 79 percent of respondents, while Norway and Denmark had 92 percent and 88 percent of people who shopped online, respectively.
