According to the data, the most common face and head surgical cosmetic procedure performed in Italy was eyelid surgery, with around 31.5 thousand procedures in 2023, followed by lip enhancement, with 27.2 thousand procedures. When it comes to lip enhancement, most patients opt for a non-surgical procedure using fillers.Â
Non-surgical procedures
Using injectables is by far the most common type of non-surgical procedure in Italy, with over 397 thousand of these procedures carried out in 2023. Among injectables, the most common is botulinum toxin, with an efficacy that lasts between three and twelve months, followed by hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite.
Breast cosmetic procedures
Breast cosmetic procedures are the most common surgical cosmetic procedures performed in Italy, as of 2023. As a matter of fact, solely breast augmentations represented 14.9 percent of overall surgical cosmetic procedures in 2023. Breast lift and breast reduction follow the list of the most common breast cosmetic procedures.
