Natural gas consumption by the mechanical engineering industry in the United Kingdom almost doubled in the period of consideration. Initially, figures declined to under 6,000 gigawatt hours in 2014. However, from 2015 onwards, figures remained above 10,900 gigawatt hours. By 2019, the British mechanical engineering industry consumed 11,092 gigawatt hours worth of natural gas.
