In 2022, Sweden contributed with 48.2 billion Swedish kronor to the budget of the European Union. This was slightly lower than the previous year, when the contribution by the Swedish government in the last 10 years peaked. After being at only 24.2 billion Swedish kronor in 2017, the annual contributions increased since. Sweden's annual contribution to the EU is higher than the sum they receive.
