The oldest homebuyers were the less likely to start their search for a home by looking online for properties for sale, compared to other generations. That was found by a 2024 survey among American homebuyers who recently purchased a home. Searching for listings online was still the most important step for ** to 34-year-olds, but a high percentage of respondents started the search by seeking information about the process online and asking friends and family. Respondents between ** and ** stood out as the most likely to directly contact a real estate agent.
