The COVID-19 outbreak led to a substantial surge in e-commerce transactions in Spain. From nearly *** million in the first quarter of 2020, the number of online transactions exceeded *** million by the end of the year. Even after businesses reopened as the crisis subsided, the volume of e-commerce transactions remained above pre-pandemic levels. In the second quarter of 2024, the number of e-commerce transactions surpassed *** million.
