This statistic presents the proportion of adults who engaged with the arts in the last year in England, between 2005 and 2019, by socio-economic group. Arts engagement refers to attending and/or participating in the arts sector, such as visiting an art gallery or participating in a theatre performance. Over the period in consideration, respondents in the upper socio-economic group tended to be more involved in the arts than those in the lower group.
