Italy, France and Spain are home to the greatest number of operational LNG terminals in Europe. As of January 2025, all three countries had import-focused terminals. Additioanlly, Italy has proposed to add a further **** LNG import terminals to its list of three operational units, which would bring its total to ** units. Figures include both onshore facilities and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU). As the region's only major oil and gas producer, Norway was also the only country with active export terminals, at **** units.
