The survey was undertaken "using an online methodology with a total of
35,746 interviews conducted with adults aged 16 and over who were resident in England, Scotland and Wales during 52 weekly survey waves".
Note that figures for 2011 to 2015 were reweighted for comparability purposes due to a change in the source's methodology in 2016. This statistic shows the reweighted values.
'Tourism day visits' are defined as day visits not taken on a regular basis and located outside of the participant's 'usual environment'. This distinguishes them from leisure day visits which include any excursions away from home including at least one leisure activity.
