Lenovo is a multinational technology company headquartered in Hong Kong. Chinese businessman Liu Chuanzhi founded Lenovo — then known as Legend — in 1984, changing the name to Lenovo in 2003. The company sells and produces various consumer electronics, smart home devices, and data center products. The company has since grown to become one of the world's leading consumer electronics companies, competing against Apple, Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic.
Lenovo ranks highly among vendors in the global PC market, consistently ahead of other notable companies such HP. and Dell, as well being one of the leading Chromebook vendors. The company also offers a range of smartphone devices under the branding Motorola, following the acquisition of the company in 2014. However, Lenovo’s smartphone market share has declined over the years, with the company now putting more of an emphasis on its growing data center segment, including the company’s hybrid cloud, edge computing, and software-defined storage solutions.
