The net issuance of exchange-traded funds (ETF) shares amounted to approximately 1.14 trillion U.S. dollars in 2024. This was a significant increase compared to 74 billion in 2006, despite the slight decline observed in 2023. Net issuance of shares for ETFs effectively tracks the overall net amount of money flowing into (or out of) ETFs over a given period.
