Since the data is derived directly from metric tons of oil equivalent using an average conversion factor, it does not necessarily equate with gas volumes expressed in specific national terms.

Figures were restated based on the latest edition of the report.

Between 1998 and 2024, North America's natural gas production increased by around *** billion cubic meters, reaching a production-peak in the latter year.
