This statistic depicts the results of a quantitative online survey conducted by BAV Consulting from February 22 to March 6, 2013. American adults were questioned at what point of the expiration date they are likely to throw away uneaten food. Some 13 percent of respondents answered to throw away uneaten food when the product reaches the 'use by' date.
