In late June 2026, a survey found that 41 percent of U.S. respondents thought neither the United States nor Iran won the war. Additionally, 25 percent believed the U.S. was victorious, and 22 percent believed Iran had the upper hand. Furthermore, U.S. public opinion was split on the success of military operations in Iran and skeptical on whether it served American strategic interests.
The joint U.S.-Israel war with Iran started on February 28, 2026. On June 17, the U.S. and Iran signed an MOU to end the hostilities.
