According to a survey conducted in the United Kingdom in 2026, around ** percent of respondents stated that AI use should have to be disclosed in the cases of both news articles and opinion columns being written without a human editor. This decreased slightly in the case of a human editor overseeing the final product. Overall, the vast majority of people were in favor of mandatory disclosure of AI use by journalistic outlets across a variety of different cases. The same survey found that ** percent of Britons were much or somewhat less likely to read an article if they knew it was partially or entirely written by AI.
