From 1994 to 2013, less than half of people worldwide who met the criteria for a mental health or substance use disorder recognized their need for treatment, with **** percent acknowledging that they required care. However, only a small fraction ultimately received effective treatment, as only  percent of all individuals meeting diagnostic criteria went on to receive care that was considered effective.
