The data correspond to estimates from the Resident Tourism Survey of the National Institute of Statistics of Spain. Since February 2015, this has continued the Statistics of Tourist Movements of Spaniards (Familitur) from the General Subdirectorate of Knowledge and Tourism Studies of Spain.
The source considers trips as travel to places outside the usual place of residence, for any reason other than employment in a company established in the visited location, involving at least one overnight stay and a duration of less than one year.

This statistic presents the quarterly evolution of the average expenditure of residents in Spain on trips within the national territory between 2019 and 2024. In the third quarter of 2024, domestic tourists spent on average about six U.S. dollars more on their trips than in the same period of the previous year: around U.S. dollars in 2024 compared to about U.S. dollars in 2023.
