This statistic represents the global consumption of fertilizers by nutrient in 2013, 2014, and 2018. In 2013, the consumption of nitrogen-based fertilizers reached approximately 111.3 megatons. The increase in grain prices led to a rise in demand for fertilizers, and this phenomenon has been particularly pronounced in South Asia for several years. A mild climate also increases the demand for fertilizers in the main agricultural regions.
