For the study, personal interviews were conducted in the homes of the sample members in the national language. Regarding data collection, CAPI systems (computer-assisted personal interviewing) were used in those countries where the technique was possible.

According to a survey conducted between April and May 2022, nearly one-third of participants aged 15 to 24 in the European Union reported having been exposed to fake news and misinformation often or very often; a proportion that was repeated among the population aged 25 to 39.
