On March 14, 2020, a state of emergency was declared in Spain due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the extent it was beginning to have in the country. As a result, road travel was limited only to justified cases. Despite this, fatalities have continued to be recorded on national interurban roads, especially during the mornings. During the period from March 15 to May 6, a total of ** people died on national interurban roads between seven in the morning and two in the afternoon.
