Between 2021 and 2023, children aged 6 to 11 years in the United States obtained the highest share of their calories from ultra-processed foods at 64.8 percent, followed closely by adolescents aged between 12 and 18 at 63 percent. By contrast, the share was significantly lower among older adults.
