In 2025, around ** percent of all back-to-school shoppers said that they planned most purchases before going shopping. The general trend is that those shopping for younger children were more likely to plan their purchases as opposed to deciding spontaneously. Roughly **** of those shopping for seven to eighth graders said that they planned a few things but also bought a lot of items on the fly, only a of those making purchases for kindergarteners did the same.
