From 57 percent in 1980, the voter turnout in the Indian general election 2024 jumped to over ** percent. This was, however, a decline from the previous elections in 2019, which witnessed the highest-ever turnout since the recorded period. The total number of eligible voters in Indian general elections is estimated to be over *** million.
