In 2023/24, plums, prunes, mirabelles and greengages in Germany showed a self-sufficiency rate of around ** percent. This was an increase compared to the previous year.
The self-sufficiency rate represents a number which shows the percentage of necessary agricultural products produced domestically, i.e. which share of agricultural products necessary for the market a country can produce on its own. In case of shortage, which is a self-sufficiency rate under 100 percent, imports become necessary.
