The European Union has incentivized its battery industry through several programs since 1958. IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) and BAtt4EU, in partnership with Horizon Europe Programme, subsidized battery technologies with budgets of *** and around *** billion euros respectively, to be used by 2031.
