According to a survey conducted in May 2024 in the United Kingdom, one third of teenage girls reported receiving unwelcome friend or follow requests, compared to ** percent of teen boys. Teen girls were more likely to experience body image content, excessive or unhealthy eating or exercise content, and group shaming than boys. However, teen boys were more likely to see dangerous stunts, with ** percent reporting to have done so.
