As of 2020, Belgium and the Netherlands were the only countries in Europe which offered noninvasive prenatal testing for all mothers. NIPT tests a pregnant woman's blood for the risk of a baby being born with the most common chromosomal abnormalities. In ** other European countries, including France and Sweden, offers NIPT to women based on risk levels (such as maternal age) at their first trimester screening.
