In 2022, around three in five survey respondents from urban and suburban areas in the United States reported having none of their teeth removed due to tooth decay or gum disease, not including teeth lost due to injury, wisdom teeth extraction, or orthodontics. In comparison, half of respondents from rural regions had at least one tooth removed due to decay or gum disease.
