From January to September 2023, Israeli gas fields produced an average of ** million cubic meters (MCM) of natural gas per day. After the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October that year, average total daily gas extraction fell by some ** percent. This was due to the suspension of operations on the Tamar offshore platform between October 7 and November 12Â for safety reasons. To compensate for the reduced production during this period, output from the Leviathan and Karish fields increased to **** MCM and ** MCM per day, respectively.
