In a July 2024 survey conducted among consumers in Australia, just over ** percent of respondents who were aware of plant-based alternatives but were non-trialists said they had not consumed these products as they were satisfied with their current dietary patterns. Around ** percent of those surveyed indicated they disliked the idea of trying plant-based food or beverages. Several respondents were concerned about the taste, cost, and texture of these products or were satisfied with the nutrition they acquired from meat and did not feel the need to supplement or replace it with alternative food products.
