In 2022, around ** percent of the prescription drug units sold in the United States were unbranded generics. However, the brand-name originator prescription drugs generated ** percent of total revenue, these only represented percent of the units sold. Unbranded generic prescription drugs represented the majority of sold drugs in all OECD countries combined, accounting for more than half of all the units sold.
