An August 2024 survey conducted in Britain found that 62 percent of daily active users of X (formerly Twitter) users felt that the platform gave people too much freedom to post what they want and allows too much offensive or harmful content. Overall, one quarter of DAU thought that X usually got the balance between freedom and moderation right. In July 2023, CEO Elon Musk officially changed Twitter’s name.
