Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the International Boxing Association (IBA) announced its decision to pay prize money to medal winners in Olympic boxing events. Gold medal winners were set to be awarded 100 thousand U.S. dollars by the IBA, while silver medal winners stood to be paid ** thousand U.S. dollars. Notably, the IBA was stripped of its status as the international governing body for boxing by the International Olympics Committee in 2023, stopping the IBA's involvement in planning the boxing events at the 2024 Olympics.Â
