*The target group was private households in Japan, regardless of automobile ownership. In automobile-owning households, the main driver of the vehicle bought most recently had to respond. In the other ones, the person in the center of the household economy had to respond. Households were randomly selected in a two-step process, first determining 300 survey points reflecting regional population sizes, then conducting random walks from each point.
This survey item targeted passenger car owners.
