According to a survey, of the total value of instant payment transactions (IPS) carried out in Africa in 2022, the highest were from cross-domain IPS. That year, nearly *** billion U.S. dollars of instant cross-domain payment transactions were registered on the continent. This system provides access for banks and non-banks and supports transactions made from both bank and mobile money accounts. Instant payment systems are spread across Africa.
