2019 was the busiest year for station-based car-sharing in Italy when nearly ** trips were made with car-sharing vehicles across the country. Trips dropped by over a third in 2020, but have recovered since to around ** trips in 2023.
In station-based car-sharing schemes, hired vehicles have to be returned to the station from which they were picked up or dropped off at another designated hire station.
