In 2023, approximately 60 percent of the global lithium-ion battery plants were situated in the Asia-Pacific region, with approximately half of them located in China. Europe and North America, respectively led by Germany and the United States, were on a par in terms of Li-ion plants, although the Li-ion battery capacity was larger in the U.S. than in the European country.
