Siemens Gamesa's success in 2024 follows a pattern of industry leadership established in the last few years. In 2023, the company held the top position for cumulative installed offshore wind capacity, with a total of **** gigawatts. This was more than double the capacity of its nearest rivals, Sewind and Vestas, which had ** and ** gigawatts installed, respectively. Siemens Gamesa also ranked second in new offshore installations for 2023, adding about *** gigawatts of capacity. 

Global offshore wind energy developers 

While turbine manufacturers play a crucial role in the offshore wind sector, developers are equally important in driving industry growth. Danish company Orsted stands out as the major offshore wind developer worldwide, with an operational capacity of about *** gigawatts as of 2024. Utilities RWE and SSE follow with *** and *** gigawatts of installed offshore capacity, respectively.
