The majority of respondents in a 2024 survey among property investors in Germany expected that the wave of bankruptcies would also spread to construction companies and suppliers. In 2023, Germany was hit by a wave of insolvencies, a result of the challenging economic environment and higher interest rates. In November 2023, the Austrian company Signa Holding filed for insolvency, resulting in the filing of a number of German subsidiaries. A total of ** percent of respondents agreed that the crisis would spread further to construction companies and suppliers.Â
