Figures do not add up to a 100 percent as participants were allowed to choose up to two reasons.
Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota method was used to ensure the sample was representative of gender and age.
The source conducted 3,000 interviews in France and 800 in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
