In 2023, there were around **** million oil heating systems in Germany with a performance class of ** to ** kilowatts. That same year, there were around **** million oil heating units in the country. Numbers have been decreasing in the last decade. New German legislation came into effect in January 2024 which confirms the gradual phasing out of oil and gas heating systems.
