Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained significant traction in the global programming community with the release of numerous development tools. In 2023, OpenAI’s products topped the list of the most used tools by technology professionals worldwide. Nearly ** percent of these professionals reported using ChatGPT, including versions *** and *, while over ** percent specifically reported using ChatGPT ***. Microsoft wasn’t far behind with its AI coding products. Visual Studio IntelliCode was used by **** percent of respondents, while GitHub Copilot, another Microsoft-owned tool, was used by over ** percent of IT professionals.
