Samsung leads the foldable market

Recent years have witnessed a development in the somewhat saturated smartphone market: foldable smartphones, namely, smartphones with foldable displays, such as flip and book-style phones. In the near future, the number of foldable unit shipments is forecast to grow, with more and more companies joining the industry. In 2025, Samsung was the market leader, accounting for over **** of the total foldable shipments. Chinese vendors Huawei and Honor followed with shares of 34.3 and 9.1 percent respectively.

Many options available to consumers

The companies active in the foldable market offer various options to consumers interested in purchasing such phones. Indeed, foldables are available in different sizes, have different display resolutions, different battery capacities, and, naturally, different prices. For instance, in 2023, the Honor Magic V2 and the Honor Magic Vs2 had the highest battery capacity, but the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Huawei Mate X5 were the most expensive foldables.
