Latvia recorded the highest percentage of the population with unmet needs for medical examinations from Central and Eastern European countries in 2023. Over 10 percent of people requiring medical tests could not receive them due to financial reasons, long waiting lists, or distance. Countries with a share lower than the EU average were Hungary, Bulgaria, and Czechia.
