Respondents were asked the following question: “Government of India is launching a car crash testing program BNCAP which will provide a safety star rating to cars. If you plan to buy a car in the next 3 years, would you want to know the safety star ratings of different cars? "
The survey had multiple questions and received over 24,000 responses with 68 percent of the respondents being males and 32 percent being females.
The distribution of tier 1 and tier 2 was 45 percent and 22 percent respectively and 22 percent of respondents belong to tier 3, 4 and rural districts.
