As of July 2022, about 37 percent of rice cookers sold on South Korean e-commerce platform Danawa had the capacity for either six servings or 10 servings. These two model sizes were considered the core segments for the domestic rice cooker market, along with the smaller four servings segment. As single households increased in the country, the sales share of four servings rice cookers slightly increased in turn. As for the eight servings segment, there was a lack in the number of available products on the platform, and the larger capacity rice cookers that served up to 30 or more people were generally purchased for commercial kitchens.
