As of July 2023, around ** percent of consumers on South Korean e-commerce platform Danawa preferred a middle type water purifier. This was a significant increase compared to results from January. As the weather got warmer, increased demand for ice cubes could have been the reason behind such a shift, as under-the-sink water purifiers were unable to produce ice cubes, while middle and stand types could. Additionally, under-the-sink types required separate installation, while middle types did not require such processes and could be easily purchased and used.
