The source specifies its index includes different costs involved in car ownership in each country such as energy/fuel, depreciation, tax, interest, insurance and maintenance. The sources uses an annual mileage assumption of 30,000 kilometers, averaging costs over the first four years of ownership.
The datapoints for the share of road tax in the total cost of ownership of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles were calculated by ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ.
Europe refers to 22 European countries: Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Czechia, Germany, Belgium, Austria, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Finland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Ireland, France, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, and Greece.
The breakdown excludes the value added tax.
