In the European Union, over **** of the respondents reported intending to purchase a hybrid or electric vehicle should they need to change their car or buy one for the first time, a share similar to that recorded in the United Kingdom. China was the only country surveyed where the share of participants reporting electric vehicle purchasing intentions was over ** percent. China was the country with the largest estimated plug-in electric vehicle fleet worldwide.
