The data represents responses to the question " How many of those days did you participate in each of the following types of bicycling?" among those who cycled for transport.
For the 2022 edition of the survey, a total of 15,871 adults living in the United States were surveyed. Data on an additional 8,345 youth between the ages of 3 and 17 was collected by surveying respondents on young people living in their household. The survey was carried out in English.
Survey results were weighted for age, gender, region, income, and race and ethnicity to correspond to the 2021 population estimates of the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey.

Among U.S. American who had cycled for transport in the previous 12 months nearly half only cycled one to five days per year, according to an October 2022 survey. Only around ** percent of cyclists who rode for transport rode on *** days or more per year.
